Sadly, we are currently taking a break from our Pulperia boxes while we ensure the restaurant can operate on its own. Rest assured, they will be making a come back very soon though!

 

A simple to reheat Sunday Roast as good as you would have in the restaurant with all the trimmings for four with beef coming from our incredible beef suppliers.  Each box comes with 1kg of 30-50 day dry aged sirloin so there’s loads left over for roast beef sandwiches through out the week!

We realise it can be not as easy or viable to eat out for your Sunday Dinner as it used to be; so Aktar has devised a way to have the full restaurant experience from home with this simple to heat roast dinner that received such rave reviews during the lockdown period.

Enough for 4 people, this roast will please everyone, as Pulperia uses the best beef suppliers in the country to source incredible cuts that simply cannot be found anywhere else! This free-range beef is imported from the fertile pastures of the Pampas where animals enjoy a tranquil and relaxed lifestyle. This is extremely tender beef that makes a perfect Sunday roast.

Reheating Instructions

You will get detailed instructions in your box. All food comes pre-cooked, however it requires reheating in the oven.

Be sure that cauliflower & beef are taken from the fridge 3 hours before cooking. Dry the beef and let it reach room temperature before cooking.

You will need an oven, a skillet pan, and some pans.

Delivery

  • Pick-up – order by 10pm Tuesday and pick up from Opheem on Thursday between 14:00-17:30
  • Nationwide delivery – order by the end of Tuesday and it will be shipped to you on Thursday with the special food-safe overnight delivery to be delivered on Friday.
  • Detailed delivery information
  • NOTE: All boxes are packaged securely with wool cool insulating sleeves and ice packs to be safe for an overnight or 2 night transit max, on the rare occasion of courier delays. At which point, we recommend moving into the fridge on arrival.

    This roast dinner was amazing! My husband really doesn’t do vegetables but even he agreed this would still have been a fantastic meal even without the beef! The meat, of course, was great but everything on the plate had brilliant flavours. I can honestly say this was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. A perfect birthday treat.

    Ordered the Sunday roast dinner box, expecting big things as we’d eaten at Opheem and Legna previously. We were not disappointed, everything about the experience was perfect. The food was well packaged and instructions for prep and reheating were clear and easy to follow. The food itself is of the highest quality and tastes incredible, what you do with the heritage carrots alone is sublime! This meal box is fantastic quality and incredible value, we easily made four good meals out of it, we will definitely be ordering again and recommending to anyone that will listen. Akthar and his continue to deliver unparalleled quality, value and service. The jewel in Birminghams cuisine crown!

    Only marginally better than my wife cooks for ourselves. Which as we are pretty good cooks and friends rave about our Sunday roasts – especially the range of flavoursome veg dishes we do – is high praise indeed. The truffled cauliflower cheese is outstanding; the creamed cabbage equally so. Slightly disappointed that our carrots didn’t look to be ‘heritage’ but peeled and chopped normal carrots – that didn’t matter a jot when we tasted them. Delicious – even to our daughter’s partner who doesn’t normally eat carrot. We supplemented the veg supplied with a plainer mix of cavolo nero and leeks with caraway seed as everything else seemed so rich we thought it a bit of balance would work. It did.
    My only suggestion for improvement is about the instructions. We emailed to ask if the temperature show was fan or conventional oven but the reply wasn’t definitive. So we erred on the side of caution and went for a lower temperature in a fan oven.
    Meat and potatoes definitely need to be at 200 degrees in a fan oven. The meat done at 180 degrees oven was not even close to being rare – ie still raw in the middle – and the potatoes were still pale after the recommended times. Not a problem as we just upped the temperature and cooked them a bit longer. Both were superb. Yorkies are large and terrific. Finally the gravy. Wow! Talk about depth of flavour.
    With very generous portions of veg too, we have plenty of leftovers, Considering this meal for four costs about the same as out local pub charges for Sunday Roast that doesn’t bear comparison, this deal from Aktar at Home is astonishingly good value – even paying for it to come the 90 miles from Birmingham.
    so looking forward to the curry box we’ve ordered for next month’s treat.

    Absolutely beautiful dinner. There is plenty here for four people. Takes a fairly small level of cooking skill to put this together. It was an easy way to create a Sunday roast and just as good as homemade, perhaps even better! I have already ordered again, this time for Easter. Thankyou Aktar Islam.

    Simply stunning!

    We ordered a roast box to celebrate the anniversary of our first date – as we couldn’t have Sunday lunch in a beautiful riverside restaurant we thought an easy-to-prepare meal from a Michelin-starred chef served at home would be a good compromise…but this delivered way above our expectations.

    Pick-up service was fast, efficient and friendly and the instructions for prep and reheating (along with clear timings) were excellent. The vegetable accompaniments were packed with flavour and complemented by fragrant herbs, the gravy was beautifully rich and glossy, and the sirloin was just epic.

    In addition, we think the box represents really good value; you could very easily spend £65 for 2 people on a good quality Sunday lunch, but there was easily enough food for 4 decent appetites.

    This made an already special day even better – thank you so much.

    The truffle cauliflower is something put of this world. The potatoes, I am not even sure it was possible to get spuds this good.

    And… I am not one who would usually talk about veg or spuds. The sirloin too quality and great flavour.

    This is a beautiful and great value Sunday dinner, it really is generous and won’t leave a family of four hungry by any means!
    Tips I would give, season the sirloin with salt before searing, add pepper before putting in the oven, different ovens have different temperatures, use a thermapen if you have one and pull the sirloin out to rest at 52c internal. Add some crushed, skin on, cloves of garlic & salt & pepper to the potatoes (they come with thyme and rosemary), slightly crush the potatoes half way through cooking to make more gorgeous crispy bits. The carrots are cooked sous vide and retain a slight crunch, if you like them a little softer, boil them in the bag for ten minutes before roasting. Add a little maldon to the cabbage at the end of cooking.
    Ordered this dinner twice, it really is excellent with a few tweaks to our taste, the sirloin is top quality, the gravy should be sold by the litre, it’s liquid gold! My wife says the she could enjoy a meal just of the vegetables and the carrots are the best she has ever tasted!
    Ordered twice to Leeds, packaging is excellent and arrived in perfect condition, about to order a third 🙂
    One final thing, as it is not mentioned in any other review or in the meal description – both the bread and the butter are absolutely beautiful.

    This roast was absolutely superb. There was so much food, we had it between 3 of us and yes it would easily feed four. It was hard to say what was the star of the show, the gravy is 5*, the beef was melt in the mouth but the creamed cabbage and carrots were sublime. Absolutely worth the money if you are thinking of doing something special or just fancy a change from cooking. Will definitely be ordering again. I would just say if you like your meat a bit more well done then start the meat in the oven on the schedule provided, and leave it in until the end. Other than that, 10/10
